Clarke Family Reunion

After nearly a week of being apart, we were able to reunite on Monday evening.  All four of us gathered in the floor as we cuddled with Peeds who we’d been missing all week and he got to cuddle his baby sister who he had only see one time before this.

They’re so cute together.  Peeds is absolutely crazy about what he calls, “His Baby”.  We just need to find a way to help him express everything that he’s feeling.  When Charlie goes to move out of the house in 30 year or so, I’ll be able to tell her how much her big brother loved her.  And how when we brought her home he was wild enough to shoot at :-)  and that since she was able to survive infancy with Peeds “helping” us with her, she deserves to live a loooooooong and fruitful life.  :-D

I’m really looking forward to sharing future posts of his antics where she is concerned.  Like today when he hugged her and she actually  grunted because he squeezed her so hard or when he got mad at her because he wanted her hat and we wouldn’t give it to him so he smacked her or how on the night when we got here he tried to play ball with her and threw his bouncy ball at her which bounced off of her head.  There are many many more adventures to come.  And I’m looking forward to all of them.  As I’m sure, you’re looking forward to hearing about them.

Today after she finished eating she was laying there being so sweet that I just couldn’t help but take a vid.  Unfortunately Peeds wasn’t able to be in the vid because he was in a time out for throwing his juice cup at Aunt B.

A coupe of minutes of Peeds trying to settle in his big boy bed

It was a looooooong night.  He just couldn’t seem to settle down in his new bed.  We’ll go back to the crib and try the big boy bed again in a couple of weeks.

1st night in the big boy

We're just a few hours into our first night in our "big boy" bed. So far we've only had one instance of getting up and wondering around. At present, Peeds is laying in the bed awake but he's staying in there. When I initially put him back in bed he cried when I started to leave so I went back to him and sang a few songs. Then told him that I loved him, to which he replied that he loved me and I asked if he was ok and he said yeah so I told him that I was going to go back to bed and that I'd be right next door if he needed me. We'll see how that goes as the night wears on. :-)

Charlie's newborn appointment went well. 7lbs 14oz , 20.75 inches long. Her doctor is pictured here with her.

Charlie’s First Bath

We gave Charlie her first bath last night.  She was a little more accepting of it than Peeds was of his.  But only a little.

The lady in the nursery gave Sug a little tip when she was bathing Charlotte in the hospital.  Apparently babies love to have the water run over their heads and feel the warm water trickling over them.  So we ended her bath with a relaxing shower and she was completely calm when it was all over.

She had a wonderful night.  We waited to feed her until Sug was ready to go to bed so all three of us went to bed together at 11:30 and we were all asleep by 11:31 :-D.  She woke at 3:30 and went back down at 5:30 then woke again at 7:30 to eat and she and daddy are Dozing now.

We’re off for her first checkup with her Pediatrician at 11am then heading directly to Ohio for a week until Grandma and Great Aunt Wendy come to visit next week.
