This is a blog about my little family and the things that happen in our day to day lives. With any luck, this will enable our loved ones to keep track of what is going on with us.

Well, the most anxiously awaited day of the year has come and gone. Charlie is HERE!!! Can you believe it? We got to the hospital at 10am on Tuesday
And at 12:27pm we had a daughter!!!
They let her stay with me while I recovered and she latched on for the first time and did really well
Then we all moved up to our room and she got her first bath
And she got to meet the rest of the fam
Sug and I are beyond ecstatic. She has been an absolute joy to have around. She’s such a calm and content baby. MOST of the time has been spent sleeping. In fact, she lost weight the first couple of days because she kept falling asleep when she was supposed to be eating. She was 8lbs 2oz when she was born and yesterday morning had dropped to 7lbs 6oz. Yesterday we spent then entire day cuddling and feeding and when she got her check up this morning, she weighed 7lbs 9oz so we’re very proud of her for gaining those 3 oz and the doctor isn’t worried about her like she was yesterday morning.
We’re leaving the hospital this evening and heading home for the first time. It’s kind of sad that the worlds greatest big brother won’t be there to greet us when we get home. But we’ll see him shortly. We’ll travel to Ohio next week to be with him.
After PPM this morning I took Oliver to Bounce U. It’s a place on the south side of town that has all of these bounce houses and Tuesday-Friday from 10am to 12pm they have an open jump for preschool-aged kids. So I didn’t have to worry about protecting him and he was just able to play. He had a blast. Here is a little video of him playing with this baseball game thingy that they have there.
Then when he got home from Donna’s he helped his Aunt B put together the chest of drawers we bought for Charlotte today. He REALLY wanted to help with the hammer and screw driver so we went downstairs and got the ones he had gotten for his birthday and she let him hammer stuff.
By the time we put him to bed, he was worn out and so were we. Only a few more days until Charlotte arrives. If she doesn’t come on her own before Tuesday, Dr. Storck will take her out at that time.
Last week the girls from work threw Charlie a baby shower and Brittany made cupcakes. I brought two of them home to the boys. I WISH I had caught Oliver’s initial reaction when he realized that he was getting what he refers to as a “cake-cake” for dessert, but the vid I got is pretty cute just the same. :-)
